Our Work
Relief Work
Post-disaster rehabilitation and emergency response
About the Programme
Post-disaster rehabilitation and emergency response for communities affected by communal violence, natural disasters, and conflict. Aman has been providing relief since its founding following the 1984 Delhi violence.
Relief work is at the heart of Aman's founding mission. Born in the aftermath of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence in Delhi, the organisation has since responded to communal violence, floods, earthquakes, and other crises across India. Relief is never just material — it encompasses dignity, justice, and the rebuilding of social trust.
"Peace could not be achieved by passivity, but by identifying sources of social discontent and defusing tension through positive rebuilding."
— Aman Charitable Trust
